The authoritative jury will include representatives of Nemiroff Company, the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTCU), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the media sponsor - the newspaper Segodnia. They will judge the contest works in three nomination categories:
- "International Fern" - the best description of the globalization of the modern cultural field;
- "Musical Fern" - the best survey of the progress trends of modern musical art;
- "Patrons the Arts Fern" - the best material regarding the revival of national art patron traditions and support of socially and culturally significant projects.
The detailed information about the official start of the contest and its conditions will be published on the pages of the newspaper Segodnia and on the web site
www.ev2005.nemiroff.ua since the next week.
The results of the "Golden Fern" contest and the presentation of awards to the winners from Ukraine, Russia and Poland will be held at a special press conference in July this year in Kyiv. It is not by chance that the symbol of this contest and Eurovision Song Contest 2005 itself has become a fern leaf resembling a writing feather. In Ukraine there is a beautiful legend about the magical properties of this plant, almost as ancient as the Earth. Since ancient times people have believed that the fern blooms only once a year and that the one who manages to find and pick its flower will have his most cherished dream come true and will find happiness and prosperity.
On a warm July night many people search for mysterious fern flowers, but only the most deserving person will get his reward. And
Nemiroff Company is absolutely sure that this for the winners of the
"Golden Fern" contest the fern certainly will be in blossom this year on the Ivana Kupala' night.
